Introduction

At NM State Esports, we aim to provide an environment where Aggies can be competitive and grow as players. Whether you're new to esports or a seasoned veteran, our mission is to create a community of gamers that feel welcomed and supported during their college journey. Our goal is to build a platform where talent is nurtured, and esports culture is celebrated. Our vision aligns with the university’s commitment to helping students shape the future, and we want to provide a learning environment for all. We also want to provide an inclusive community in Las Cruces for players of all skill levels and backgrounds in video games.

The Teams We Support

We currently have 13 game titles competing at the collegiate level, and we support all types of campus gaming—from casual to competitive. Our current titles include Apex Legends, Chess, Counter Strike: 2, Call of Duty, League of Legends, Halo, Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, Splatoon 3, MarioKart, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, and Valorant. We are proud of our achievements in games like Rocket League and League of Legends, and we're always looking for competitive gamers to represent NM State. Additionally we’re open to adding new titles that are competing at the collegiate level and provide support to any student wanting to start a team.

Behind the Scenes

We provide a dedicated space for all the students in the community— weather you are competing, playing casually, or just hanging out the space provided is in Corbett Student Success Center is our Esports Lab, located above Pete's Patio in the game Lounge that is open Monday through Friday from 12pm to 12am. This space creates a welcoming atmosphere to students, a home away from home. We have a wonderful array of Staff that have joined the organization and want to always do more. There are many ways to get involved from financial planning, recruiting, media creation, and game management. These opportunities give students a chance to understand the organization and help everything run smoothly as it continues to grow.

Our Approach To Esports

We believe in approaching competition and tournaments with integrity and professionalism. We provide our competitors with separate setups to ensure they can perform at their best while fostering teamwork. We provide our players a chance to engage with a fan-base, including streaming games, and exclusive content. We are sponsored by ViewSonic Gaming helping us create a competitive environment with the latest gaming technology.
